Corde natus ex parentis
Ante mundi exordium
A et O cognominatus,
ipse fons et clausula
Omnium quæ sunt, fuerunt,
quæque post futura sunt.
Sæculorum sæculis.
English:
Of the Father’s love begotten,
Ere the worlds began to be,
He is Alpha and Omega,
He the source, the ending He,
Of the things that are, that have been,
And that future years shall see,
Evermore and evermore!

O Come, All Ye Faithful
04:06
|
|||
Come, all ye faithful,
joyful and triumphant,
Come, O come, to Bethlehem.
Come behold the King of angels;
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him.
True God of true God,
Light from Light Eternal,
He doesn’t shun the Virgin’s womb;
Begotten, not created;
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him.
Sing ye, choirs of angels,
sing in exultation;
Sing, all citizens of heaven above!
Glory, glory in the highest;
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.
Yes, yes, O Lord, we greet Thee,
born this happy morning;
O Jesus, to Thee be glory given;
The Word, now in flesh appearing.
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him,
Come, let us adore Him,
Christ the Lord.

Bring a torch, Jeanette, Isabella,
Bring a torch, it is dark in the stall.
Jesus waits, good folk of the village,
Run quickly, I hear Mary calling:
“Ah, ah!” How radiant is the mother,
“Ah, ah!” How beautiful is the Child.
See how sweetly young Jesus is sleeping,
Like a rosebud, so pink and so white.
Tread softly outside of the manger,
Wake not the Babe, lest He start crying.
“Ah, ah!” The mother is so exhausted,
“Ah, ah!” The Child is fast asleep.
Kneel and worship the infant Christ-child,
Whisper low as you gaze with delight.
Angel voices aloft sing his praises,
While a star gleams above the manger.
“Ah, ah!” How blessed is Mother Mary,
“Ah, ah!” How perfect is Christ the Child.

Ding dong merrily on high,
In heav'n the bells are ringing:
Ding dong! verily the sky
Is riv'n with angel singing.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
E'en so here below, below,
Let steeple bells be swungen,
And "Io, io, io!"
By priest and people sungen.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!
Pray you, dutifully prime
Your matin chime, ye ringers;
May you beautifully rime
Your evetime song, ye singers.
Gloria, Hosanna in excelsis!

Hark! The herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King;
Peace on earth, and mercy mild,
God and sinners reconciled!”
Joyful, all ye nations rise,
Join the triumph of the skies;
With th’angelic host proclaim,
“Christ is born in Bethlehem!”
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Christ, by highest Heav’n adored;
Christ the everlasting Lord;
Late in time, behold Him come,
Offspring of a virgin’s womb.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see;
Hail th’incarnate Deity,
Pleased with us in flesh to dwell,
Jesus our Emmanuel.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Hail the heav’nly Prince of Peace!
Hail the Sun of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings,
Ris’n with healing in His wings.
Mild He lays His glory by,
Born so no one has to die.
Born to raise children of earth,
Born to give them second birth.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Come, Desire of nations, come,
Fix in us Thy humble home;
Rise up, Mary’s conqu’ring Son,
Silence now the Serpent’s tongue.
Oh, to all thyself impart!
Formed in each believing heart.
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!”
Hark! the herald angels sing,
“Glory to the newborn King!”

Hey, Hey, Ho
00:29
|
|||
Hey, hey, ho, the north winds blow
O’er the ice and frozen snow.
Sleigh bells rings as we sing,
On our way we go.
Santa Clause lives up there,
With the reindeer and the bear.
And we’ll roam through his home
Up in the northern world.

Christmas Eve
03:45
|
|||
An usher near the narthex turns the dimmer down
while Pastor Cath is giving the fire safety speech.
We fumble in our hymnals, trying to adjust to the light.
Eyes blinking like seraphim, we open up to Silent Night.
Oh, oh, oh...
The amber flames stretch out onto my waiting wick,
and I feel the heat like sunshine kissing my pale face.
The light casts long shadows, dancing on my slacks,
making hulking monsters of the full coat racks.
Oh, oh, I want to go back.
Oh, oh, I want to stop moving.
Oh, oh, I want to fast forward.
I want to go home.
Grandma's hands shiver and shake;
I bite my lip as I pass the flame.
The darkness looks like a picture frame,
and the first chord starts to play.
Silent night, holy night...
Wax starts to slide down the candle's side.
We sing all together in four part harmony,
my mom, my dad, my sisters, my whole family and me.
We still do in my memory.
We still do in my memory.

Lo, how a rose e'er blooming,
From tender stem hath sprung.
Of Jesse's lineage coming,
As songs of old have sung;
It came, a flow'ret bright,
Amid the cold of winter,
When half spent was the night.
Isaiah 'twas foretold it,
The Rose I have in mind,
With Mary we behold it,
The virgin mother kind;
To show God's love aright,
She bore to all a Savior,
When half spent was the night.
O Flower, whose fragrance tender
With sweetness fills the air,
Dispel with glorious splendour
The darkness everywhere;
True man, yet very God,
From Sin and death now save us,
And share our every load.

Lully, lullay, Thou little tiny Child,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
Lullay, thou little tiny Child,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
O sisters too, how may we do,
For to preserve this day
This poor youngling for whom we do sing
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.
Herod, the king, in his raging,
Charged he hath this day
His men of might, in his owne sight,
All young children to slay.
That woe is me, poor Child for Thee!
And ever mourn and sigh,
For thy parting neither say nor sing,
Bye, bye, lully, lullay.

Waiting for Santa
02:49
|
|||
I don’t want a lot this Christmas, just to be with you.
You could wear that dress I like. You know the one, it’s blue.
We could take a walk, except it’s negative degrees.
Let’s just stay inside and sit as close as frozen peas.
As a child I sat against the heater in my room
and listened closely to hear Santa on the roof.
Later, I stopped believing—‘cause I was above deceiving.
Still, I would lay awake and wait and wait and wait.
Christmas is approaching but I don’t have any list.
How could I want more when I have got a scene like this?
I can hear your heartbeat and the radiator’s hum.
You are like a dream that I don’t have to wake up from.
I’ve spent so much time just waiting for you, darling.
I had almost given up, but now I’m starting to believe again.

little tree
03:16
|
|||
little tree
little silent Christmas tree
you are so little
you are more like a flower
who found you in the green forest
and were you very sorry to come away?
see i will comfort you
because you smell so sweetly
i will kiss your cool bark
and hug you safe and tight
just as your mother would,
only don't be afraid
look the spangles
that sleep all the year in a dark box
dreaming of being taken out and allowed to shine,
the balls the chains red and gold the fluffy threads,
put up your little arms
and i'll give them all to you to hold
every finger shall have its ring
and there won't be a single place dark or unhappy
then when you're quite dressed
you'll stand in the window for everyone to see
and how they'll stare!
oh but you'll be very proud
and my little sister and i will take hands
and looking up at our beautiful tree
we'll dance and sing
"Noel Noel"

O little town of Bethlehem
How still we see thee lie
Above thy deep and dreamless sleep
The silent stars go by
Yet in thy dark streets shineth
The everlasting Light
The hopes and fears of all the years
Are met in thee tonight
For Christ is born of Mary
And gathered all above
While mortals sleep, the angels keep
Their watch of wondering love
O morning stars together
Proclaim the holy birth
And sing your praise, for God gives grace
And Peace to all on earth
How silently, how silently
The wondrous gift is given!
So God imparts to human hearts
The blessings of high heav’n.
No ear may hear His coming,
But in this world of sin,
Where meek souls will receive him still,
The dear Christ enters in.
O holy Child of Bethlehem
Descend to us, we pray
Cast out our sin and enter in
Be born to us today
We hear the Christmas angels
The great glad tidings tell
O come to us, abide with us
Our Lord Emmanuel.

Wassail, Wassail
01:36
|
|||
Wassail, wassail, all over the town.
Our bread it is white and our ale it is brown.
Our bowl is made of the maple tree.
So here, my good fellow, I'll drink to thee.
The wassailing bowl with a toast within,
Come fill it up now, unto the brim.
Fill it up that all may see.
With the wassailing bowl I'll drink to thee.
Come butler, bring us a bowl of your best,
And hope that your soul in heaven shall rest.
But if you bring us a bowl too small,
Then down shall go butler, bowl and all.

My soul magnifies the Creator,
my spirit rejoices in God’s name;
for God has looked down on this lowly handmaiden.
My heart has a song to proclaim.
Praise God’s name in the highest!
Praise God’s name in the highest!
Future generations will call me blessed,
the Redeemer has done great things to me.
God will show mercy to those who show honor,
all faithful who were and will be.
Praise God’s name in the highest!
Praise God’s name in the highest!
My Holy Mother has shown her arm’s strength,
and my Father has softened hard hearts.
She has cast down the proud from their thrones,
He has risen up rulers from farms.
My God fills the hungry with good things,
my God shows the great they are small.
My Savior remembers all promises;
though I’m scared, I will answer this call.
Praise God’s name in the highest!
Praise God’s name in the highest!
Praise God’s name in the highest!
Praise God’s name in the highest!

Jolly Old Saint Nicholas,
Lean your ear this way;
Don't you tell a single soul
What I'm going to say,
Christmas Eve is coming soon;
Now my dear old man,
Whisper what you'll bring to me;
Tell me if you can.
