I saw three ships come sailing in On Christmas day, on Christmas day I saw three ships come sailing in On Christmas day in the morning And what was in those ships all three? On Christmas day, on Christmas day And what was in those ships all three? On Christmas day in the morning Joy to the world, the Lord is come Let Earth receive her King Pray, whither sailed those ships all three? On Christmas day, on Christmas day Pray, whither sailed those ships all three? On Christmas day in the morning. O, they sailed to Bethlehem On Christmas day, on Christmas day O, they sailed to Bethlehem On Christmas day in the morning You better watch out You better not cry Better not pout I'm telling you why Jesus Christ is coming to earth And all the bells on earth shall ring On Christmas day, on Christmas day And all the bells on earth shall ring On Christmas day in the morning And all the souls on earth shall sing On Christmas day, on Christmas day And all the souls on earth shall sing On Christmas day in the morning Then let us all rejoice and sing On Christmas day, on Christmas day Then let us all rejoice and sing On Christmas day in the morning

People, look east. The time is near Of the crowning of the year. Make your house fair as you are able, Trim the hearth and set the table. People, look east and sing today: Love, the guest, is on the way. Furrows, be glad. Though earth is bare, One more seed is planted there: Give your strength the seed to nourish, That in time the flower may flourish. People, look east and sing today: Love, the rose, is on the way. Keep watch, you stars. When night is dim One more light the bowl shall brim, Shining far beyond the frosty weather, Bright as sun and moon together. People, look east and sing today: Love, the star, is on the way. Angels, announce with shouts of mirth Christ who brings new life to earth. Set the peaks and valleys humming With the word, the Lord is coming. People, look east and sing today: Love, the Lord, is on the way.

The snow's coming down I'm watching it fall All the people around Baby please come home The church bells in town All ringing in song Oh the happy sounds Baby please come home They're singing "Deck The Halls" But it's not like Christmas at all I remember when you were here And all the fun we had last year Pretty lights on the trees I'm watching them shine Wish you were here with me Baby please come home (Christmas) They're singing "Deck The Halls" But it's not like Christmas at all I remember when you were here And all the fun we had last year If there was a way I'd hold back these tears But it's Christmas day Baby, please come home (Christmas) Baby, please come home Baby, please come home Baby, please come home Baby, please

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go Take a look at the five and ten, it's glistening once again With candy canes and silver lanes that glow It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Toys in every store But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be On your own front door A pair of hop-a-long boots and a pistol that shoots Is the wish of Bonnie and Ben Dolls that'll talk and will go for a walk Is the hope of Johnny and Jen And Mom and Dad can hardly wait for school to start again It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Everywhere you go There's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well The sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Soon the bells will start And the thing that will make 'em ring is the carol that you sing Right within your heart It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas Toys in every store But the prettiest sight to see is the holly that will be On your own front door

Jesus our brother, strong and good Was humbly born in a stable rude And the friendly beasts around him stood Jesus our brother, strong and good. "I," said the donkey, shaggy and brown, "I carried his mother up hill and down; I carried his mother to Bethlehem town." "I," said the donkey, shaggy and brown. "I," said the cow, all white and red "I gave him my manger for his bed; I gave him my hay to pillow his head." "I," said the cow, all white and red. "I," said the sheep with curly horn, "I gave him my wool for his blanket warm; He wore my coat on Christmas morn." "I," said the sheep with curly horn. "I," said the dove from the rafters high, "I cooed him to sleep so that he would not cry; We cooed him to sleep, my mate and i." "I," said the dove from the rafters high. Thus every beast by some good spell In the stable dark was glad to tell Of the gift he gave Emmanuel, The gift he gave Emmanuel.

Christmas comes just once a year let’s put aside our doubt and fear! But if you can’t, I understand, my dear. Hold my hand and cuddle close, we’ll watch the movies you love most, and if that’s not enough, then you should know: You don’t have to frost a cookie. You don’t have to trim the tree. All I want is time together, and a little two-part harmony––just you and me. Christmas comes each wintertime with toys and joys and silly rhymes, but you may find it’s hard to be alive (let alone thrive). Here’s my hand, and all my love. Please tell me what you’re thinking of, but if you can’t, I understand, my turtledove. We don’t have to hang the stockings–– Jesus wore sandals, anyway. We don’t have to hand out presents–– frankincense is so passé. Wouldn’t you say? Christmas comes with drifting snow that covers all the flowers below, but if we wait our garden just might grow. So set your mind on warmer times, or rage against the dying light; either way, I’ll always hold you tight.

I wonder as I wander out under the sky How Jesus the Saviour did come for to die For poor on'ry people like you and like I; I wonder as I wander out under the sky When Mary birthed Jesus 'twas in a cow's stall With wise men and farmers and shepherds and all But high from God's heaven, a star's light did fall And-the promise of ages it then did recall. If Jesus had wanted for any wee thing A star in the sky or a bird on the wing Or all of God's Angels in heaven to sing He surely could have it, 'cause he was the King

Artist's statement: "In this piece, Mary and Joseph snuggle their tiny new baby with deep tenderness and joy, wading in sacred waters and sheltered by branches of wild fruit trees. Mary wears green, symbolizing growth and resilience, and Joseph wears pink, symbolizing vulnerability and care. Jesus wears red, the color of ripe pomegranates, which appear many times in the Bible. The pomegranates were inspired by a beautiful tree I met in the desert near Las Vegas while protesting nuclear testing and drone warfare."
